Our Mission

Uniting Abilities, Fostering Inclusion

Authentic research methods — the kind that drive real discoveries — are largely absent from traditional K-12 education. Nexellence Institute fills that gap. We teach students how to frame questions, design studies, analyze data, and present findings the way working scientists do — and we start early, because there's no reason to wait until college.

Our students learn from active researchers with PhDs from the very beginning — not simplified versions later. Grounded in Universal Design for Learning, our approach benefits all students, and is especially effective for gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) learners.

Our Founder

Built by a Researcher Who Saw the Gap

Dr. Michelle Yin — economist, Northwestern University professor, and parent — founded Nexellence to give every young person access to authentic research methods, real mentorship, and real-world opportunities. She believes every student deserves to be challenged as a thinker, not just tested.

Her vision: a full ecosystem where students learn research from day one, teachers get the training they've never had, and every pathway leads to competitive, meaningful careers.

She specializes in Universal Design for Learning, inclusive education, and social-emotional development — principles that shape every Nexellence program.
